Ref. Chanel 13 Video on Treasure Island's Downtown
Dear ED,
Can't figure out why Julian Fant was featured. As far as I know, he's not a spokesperson for anybody. His 50/50 split for the cost of the study is useless in my opinion. If the Commission/voters won't support spending money to facilitate changing the commercial LDR's, how in the world are they going to support voting to approve any recommended changes?
Sounds like we don't need a TI Chamber if the info they are handing out is the same info tourists get from the kiosk in front of Celebrations...want fun? go to John's Pass Village. Wonder how our restaurants, bars, shops, charter boats, etc feel about what Dominique said? It would have been the perfect opportunity for her to talk about our beach, golf and tennis facilities, restaurants, etc. What a shame.
Treasure Island
Below are some more emails floating around town about the comments made by Dominique Reiter.
Dear TI business owner:
1st - Watch this video of TI Chamber Chairperson Domenic Reiter bashing Treasure Island! Great for YOUR business?
The PLEASE call the chamber immediately and demand a refund of your membership fee!
If that's what our Chamber is saying to visitors I'm understanding why we don't have walk-ins like we used to.
This Is Larry Lund - who is a sore LOSER - He is the one who ran against Big Ed in the recent election for commissioner and lost by a landslide -He has lived here 2 yrs and is hell bent on changeing T.I.-
As far as Domenic Reiter she is trying to be the next Mayor- She also lost by a landslide against Phil Collins-last year for District 1. ----Another LOSER.
If we go back 10 yrs - we would see the same signs. I SAY IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT HERE - GO BACK TO OHIO.!!
Dear ED,
I went to buy an annual parking pass yesterday. I was told I could only by one per household. Why can't I buy one for both cars? Doesn't the city like to raise a little more money? If I can prove that both my cars are registered in the city, why can't I buy one for both? The lots are never full, the city could use the extra revenue.
Speaking of revenue, a friend is getting married later this year and called to ask availablity of the Rec Center for a holiday weekend. She was told in a very nasty fashion that they couldn't do it because they would have to pay a city employee overtime to open and closed the building. Let's see 400.00 rental. Employee time and a half for five hours is around 60 to 90 dollars. You do the math.
Is ther anyone actually thinking about this stuff before they say no?
TI Nole
Yes, Commissioner Gayton now wants to split the cost of running the City 50/50 with the business community.
