Blame it on Janet Jackson or Howard Stern but Treasure Island is now in the middle of the nationwide crusade to raise America’s moral standards.
Treasure Island City Hall Officials were shocked today when investigators from the Federal Communications Commission arrived and served the City with a thirty page complaint which names the City as defendant in an investigation of a violation of the nations broadcast standards.
T I Beach Bums was able to acquire a copy of the complaint which claims Treasure Island’s community cable television channel, Treasure Island Television 15, is sexually explicit in nature. The FCC complaint lists several violations of current moral standards set by the government agency involving the City of Treasure Island. The violations include two allegedly made by the City’s cable channel and one made by the former City transit system.
According to the documents obtained by T I Beach Bums the FCC is claiming the name of the City’s channel, T I T v15, is sexually explicit and the initials are slang for parts of the female anatomy. The FCC claims that the City knowingly shows these sexually explicit call letters continually in the lower corner of the screen during public broadcasts. The FCC documents state that the initials T I T are common slang for women’s breasts and the City should have known this and removed the offending initials from their broadcasts.
The FCC also is claiming that during broadcasts on T I T the City allows the frequent showing of a public speaker who is known by what the FCC claims is a name that could be construed as sexual in nature, Olivia Cox.
The complaint also names the City’s former transit system, Treasure Island Transit System, better know by the initials TITS, along with it’s motto, “Ride our TITS around Treasure Island” to be sexually graphic and an affront to the public morals.
No one from City Hall nor has Olivia Cox contacted T I Beach Bums to comment on this story but we are sure they will.
