Are You Free Tuesday Night?

Now that the Treasure Island City Commission will be meeting on every other Tuesday rather than the traditional every Tuesday, most residents will now have two evenings a month free to indulge in whatever pursuits that meet their fancy. We here at T I Beach Bums realize that many of you will now be “lost” on those meeting less Tuesday nights and instead of having you just wandering the streets and getting into some sort of trouble, we would like to make a few suggestions as to how you can spend your newly acquired free evening.

Dig swales (that’s fancy talk for a water retention ditch) in your yard so that rain water runoff from your patio doesn't’t spill into the bay and kill a whale.

Plan a trip to a neighboring community that will actually have 4th of July Fireworks.

Begin a new Tuesday Night tradition on Treasure Island of actually DOING SOMETHING.

Drive up and down Gulf Blvd. and try to figure out how all the new construction is, as Commissioner Collins’ is fond of saying, ‘Making Treasure Island Better Not Taller,”

Attend a group session at your neighborhood Re-Hab Center.

Go tothe beach and pretend you are walking on a completed Beach Trail Extension.

Really annoy your neighbors, start a Tuesday night Drum Circle.

See how many times you can cross Gulf Blvd. without getting run over.

Try to fix the air conditioning system at the Community Center so that the City doesn't continue to waste large amounts of money renting portable units while the Commission tries to figure out what to do.

Go to Madeira Beach and try to find a Deputy.

Visit Sunset Beach and try to find a car that doesn't have either body damage or an expired tag.

Wait for the next Beach Trolley, and wait, and wait and wait......

Try to find a tourist staying at a local motel or better yet, try to find a local motel.

Teach Commissioner Bildz to say “Aye” and “Nay”.

Spend a Tuesday night not screaming at your TV and beating your head against the wall.
