Finally A New Roof
The Treasure Island City Commission’s well known inability to address issues in a timely matter may have come home to roost as the heavy rains released by a stalled cold front have caused the already damaged roof of the City’s Community Center to collapse.
Although it is speculation at this time as to all the contributing factors in the collapse of the roof, T I Beach Bums has documented the Commission’s indecisions in regards to replacing the Community Center’s long inoperable roof- top air conditioning units and repair the damage caused by the failing units during the last several months of their operation.
Treasure Island residents can take a sigh of relief as T I Beach Bums has learned from our sources imbedded in City Hall that a contractor has been selected and repair work has begun on the Community Center’s damaged roof.
According to our sources, Whipsnade Roofing Company of Slicklizzard, Alabama has been awarded an emergency contract to repair the roof. Though we were unable to locate any form of license or insurance associated with Whipsnade Roofing of Slicklizzard, Alabama, T I Beach Bums was assured by the company president, Larsen E. Whipsnade, that his company is fully insured, licensed and is one of the nations leading post disaster contractors.
“We have completed half assed, err, quality storm related damage across the southeast.” stated Larsen E., “We are wanted in nearly every Gulf Coast county from the Texas Border east.”
Whipsnade was quick to point out that his company was a member of the prestigious roofing organization, Roofing Applicators and Technicians Society, (RATS) and that he would be using the latest in roofing technology on the Community Center repairs.
“We will be using a new technology called Multiple Use Dynamics and Strengthened Trimmed Inverted Connection Keepers and Sockets, referred to in the industry as MUD and STICKS.” Whipsande boasted. “It’s economically advantageous and environmentally friendly.”
T I Beach Bums wants to be the first to congratulate our City for using our tax dollars to fix our Community Center with mud and sticks.
